Miniature Herefords

Why Miniature Cattle?

Miniature cattle breeds have many qualities that make them good candidates for a variety of reasons. Due to their smaller size and generally more docile temperament they are easier on the land, equipment, and to handle. They consume 1/3 of the amount less than the larger breed of cattle, and due to less weight and hoof size pasture retention is better. Because of this you can raise 1-2 small cattle per acre verses 5 acres per 1-2 large animal, therefore total beef production per acre is much greater. Miniature cattle are also closer to a family’s beef needs with smaller more manageable cuts.
